Good morning. Yesterday was Wilson's birthday. I told him he is an old man now, 22 years old, really hard to believe.
Let me tell you about my mini Sam (Wilson).
When we learned of his coming birth it was a real surprise for us. Thinking we would have no more children (other than Allene), you cannot imagine what a livestyle change having a new baby was for us.
However, I cannot express in any words the joy and happiness he has brought to our lives.
God always knows what we need. He knows what we want--even when we do not realize what we want.
Anyway, back to Wilson. He was always the most handsome little guy you ever saw. Killer Eyes, Killer Smile. He was also great with the elderly in the local congregations we have pastored over the years.
I remember in the mountains of Ky. Bro. Smith, local deacon, was very sick with cancer. Our first meeting together with the local church was a picnic. Wilson won over Bro Smith immediately. Bro. Smith won over
Wilson also. They were inseparable the rest of the day. We were afraid Wilson would run off and leave Bro. Smith, instead, Wilson (then 4) poked along with Brother Smith as if he was as old and as sick as Brother Smith himself.
Public school was very hard for Wilson (so active and easily distracted), we took him out of public school when he was in the 3rd grade. Where there was a Christian school nearby, he went there, but when there wasn't we homeschooled. He is very smart. He is a hard worker. He enjoys
a variety of things--to match his personality, whatever he is doing at present is what he is the happiest with.
I thank my God everyday for the children He has blessed us with. A beautiful girl and a handsome guy.
God has truly blessed us.
