Here we are once again, in the valley of decision. What do we do? How do we get it done? Who will complain? Who will be supportive? What are the financial cost? How will we get through the financial, physical and emotional stress? What about my job? What about the school situation? Where will we live? What needs to be first? What can wait?
In case you have never been a pastor, pastor's wife or a pastor's child you have never given appointment time a second thought. It is one of the most stressful times of the year for some of us in the ministry.
This year we are having to modify our usual preparations for making the change scheduled to occur in August. We have always tried to make the move as quickly and smoothly as possible. However, we have much to consider now that we are getting closer to retirement age.
Do we sell our home-which is debt free? Do we move it? (Really expensive). It was the best thing to do when we moved here to Commerce. And it may very well be the best thing for us to do moving to Millen. We are just not sure yet.
We have made a couple of decisions, at least for now. I will not be giving up my job at this time. I have worked long hours and some very hard work to improve the nursing home where I work. It has taken all involved working hard and brainstorming for ways to improve our quality of care. The Lord has blessed us here with a supportive local church and a good livelihood. As I get older ad retirement nears for us, we have decided to do some traveling back and forth--at least for a while. We may move our home or we may sell and buy in Millen. Only the Lord knows what the final decision will be. We plan to buy a camper or rent a home there temporarily.
The people at Millen are very supportive and understand the difficulties of totally moving at this time. We are praying for the Lord to help us get settled somehow so we can grow the church at Millen.
So, if anyone out there reads my blog....we desire your prayers for His perfect will, we want to be where He wants us, when He wants us and how He wants us.
