Well, it has been quite a journey. If anyone ever told you that it was easy being a part of a minister's family...well, let's say they need to walk in those shoes before they speak.
We left Commerce on October 16. It was not easy for me, but then, it never has been easy. As in my last post, I truly believe that there are things sometimes required of us that may not necessarily be required of many others. We had just began to settle into the work at Millen. We had purchased a camper, for weekend housing. Bro. Cox had moved it to Millen for us. (He truly is a wonderful son-in-law). Already, we were seeing some increase in the work there. However, the assembly brought a different assignment for us. Again, this was not easy for me. I was very attached to my work--and it was probably the most difficult thing I have ever done--to leave the security that job afforded us. To the people at work who read my blog, I miss you all terribly, but, I know you are continuing to work hard and pulling together as a team. But, as Sis. Allene sings and the Word of God teaches, "Whatever it Takes." The people here in Vernon are wonderful. They have reached out and tried to make this move as painless as possible for us. . The area is beautiful. If I could have brought the people I love with me, I guess it would be just perfect
I truly miss my family. I talk with them often, but, to know that to see them will take a 4-5 day road trip (and I mean long hours of driving 8-12 hour days), or a real expensive fare for air travel-is quite different than driving 3-4 hours. I miss my 3 grands. I know they are prospering in Millen. Soon they will have finished working on their house and will get to move in. I thank God that He has provided for their needs there.
I miss Wilson. He has decided to stay in Millen. I know he is 23, but, he is still our youngest and I guess it is kinda hard to see him as ready to go it alone. I am praying that God will direct his choices for his future. Wilson, just want you to know I miss you.
Well, enough of the pity party. God is still Good. His Word is still true, and He is coming soon.
Please pray for my friend Joy Wilcox, she has recently been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Also remember her husband and daughter in your prayers.
